My Profile/Bio updated

Just updated my Profile/Bio on 500pix and thought I might as well post it here, for those of you who are wondering who I am and what makes me tick :’).

I’m an iPhoneographer/iPhone Artist/mobile photography artist based in Perth, Western Australia. I love taking images of the mundane, trivial and pedestrian, and turning them into something extraordinary and special. My website is http://alyzenmoonshadow.wix.com/alyzenmoonshadow. I am also on Flickr at http://www.flickr.com/photos/alyzenmoonshadow. I have my work up on several online sites such as: Redbubble at http://www.redbubble.com Zazzle at http://www.zazzle.com FineArtAmerica at http://www.fineartamerica.com deviantArt at http://alyzenmoonshadow.deviantart.com  Society6 at http://www.society6.com/alyzenmoonshadow and ArtOfWhere at http://www.artofwhere.com/alyzenmoonshadow. When not engaged in making mobile photography art and design, I also like to set my images to accompany original music, by creating YouTube videos using iMovie on the iPhone 4/iPad/Macbook Pro. To date, I have created several YouTube videos for the electronic musician ElectroCelt (who also happens to be my husband), you can find them under my publishing name or channel “electroceltess10” on YouTube. My first outside collaboration with another musician, Brian Vassallo, set my images to his electronic music track entitled “I Am Always In Your Heart”. I am also a Classically trained musician currently working on composing music on my Yamaha Tenori-On. You can follow my work and my words on my blog http://www.alyzenmoonshadow.com

iOS App Review 2 – addLib U

Howdy folks, welcome back to the 2nd part of my iOS App Review…this time we’ll be looking at addLib U.  Although the premise is the same, i.e that of generating random graphic designs to be used in conjunction with user loaded images, WOW Inc., the developers, have given this one the feel of actually creating a graphic booklet.

This App gives you the option to load up to 4 different images.  Once loaded, upon the press of a button, addLib U will generate a series of 10 random graphic design images. There’s a whole lotta fun to be had here!  Within each image, you have the option of customizing the text, which is subdivided into “Main” and “Sub”…but which are essentially merely indicative of where they fall within the generated image. The “Main” section itself has a Randomise button, which churns out errrr…random words. The “Sub” button is really for you to input a date, however you can also use it to write subtext to go with the main body of your image.

Here’s the App Store blurb:

And here are some of the images the App generated at random, after I input 4 images from my iPad.  They look so professional, don’t they?  addLib U offers more variety than addLib S, and a bit more flexibility in inputting text. I’d still like to see more features in it, the same as for addLib S.

A Fresh Start

Today I begin my new blog on WordPress.  Actually, this blog has been in existence for a few months now, only I never came to terms with how it works til now (and to be frank, I still find it a little mindboggling to navigate WordPress, but practice makes perfect, right?).

So, why am I blogging?  Well, to be sure I already have a gorgeous website up and running on http://alyzenmoonshadow.wix.com/alyzenmoonshadow, where you will find all the links to sites where my artwork and designs can be purchased, and where my YouTube videos can be seen too. However, a blog seems an easier and more streamlined way to keep up to date and to update friends and followers.  Especially now as I have so many creative ideas going round in my head!

The timing is just right as well.  Lately my workplace has become Hell on Earth, thanks to some middle managers who lack life experience but believe they own the world just because they “made it” to management level.  It’s all KPIs and Customer Satisfaction, never mind that Staff morale is at an all time low, with a very high attrition rate.  There is only so much BS and bullying one can take, and for me it’s time to move on to bigger and better things. The only person I have to impress is myself, after all.  Give me another week or two, and I will be well shot of that place!

What will I be blogging about?  As a crossover mobile photography artist, who uses both iOS and Android platforms, on my iPhone4/iPad2 and Samsung Galaxy S3/S4, I believe I’m one of the few who are privileged enough to have experienced the best of both worlds.  And continue to be blessed with it.  Why not share the experience, then?  My creative works have evolved from an early obsession with Lomography, to various projects involving Australian wetlands (“Dalienutopia”), Flowers (“iFlower Series”), Space, dress designs(!) etc.  And now most recently I am exploring Abstract Art and Graphic Design.  My ultimate aim is to get my work recognised globally and to have my art and designs licensed.  To do so, I know that I must push myself out more into my chosen field of work.  And to do this, a Blog is perhaps the most logical way of keeping my finger in the pie, so to speak!

To start with, I shall review iOS and Android Apps that I currently use.  No one has asked me to do this, but an iOS App developer very recently invited me to answer her questions about Bokeh, as she and her team are developing new App for it.  Following on from that experience, I felt that I could and should do more for my community, so here I am today.
