Pinterest Curated Images for International Women’s Day

Yesterday, I posted about Carrie Green’s phenomenal business book “She Means Business” (pure gold, get it now, run don’t walk, what are you waiting for?), which arrived on International Women’s Day. Then I got carried away waxing lyrical about the book and about Female Entrepreneurs in general, and that’s why this post is a day late.

But wait…my half of the world may be in a different day, but it’s still International Women’s Day in America. So yay, happy dance, I’m still on time!

I found these quotes on strong women and woman’s solidarity on Pinterest:

Words I Love

I love books, and I love words. For me, words don’t have to be in English for them to sound beautiful, or sometimes for me to even understand their meaning. Some words are onomatopoeic and you can guess what they mean, just by how they sound.

Today I thought I’d just share some of my current favourites from my Pinterest board “For The Love Of Words“:

Now Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree

Yesterday I got sidetracked from my original intention of sharing with you Pinterest curated images of a houseplant I’d love to get – the Fiddle Leaf Fig tree. But instead I got to talking about an App Game called “Design Home“.

So here I am today, with those promised images of said tree. I just love the large leaves and how the tree has such a pleasing shape and can be grown indoors in a pot. Its green is also very beautiful. I simply Must find space in my house for one!

Isn’t it gorgeous?

My Vision Board for My New Home

So, things are moving along now, after more than a year of stagnation. It’s taken me that length of time to realise that help is not going to come from any of the usual sources – parents or family. And friends are only able to lend moral, not financial, support. No, I got myself into this rut, and I’m the only one who can get myself out of it.

I’ll be moving into a rental in 3 weeks’ time. It’ll take a while longer for me to sell or give away my hens, Japanese Quail, weiros, budgies and Japanese Koi, so I’ll no doubt be to-ing and fro-ing between the new house and the old on a daily basis, moving stuff and cleaning up, for a while.

But meanwhile, I’ll be dreaming of creating my home just the way I want it. It’s going to be Bohemian meets Creative meets dare I say it, Romantic. ❤❤❤

Life is sweet!

Pinterest has proven once again to be a treasure trove of ideas for home decorating. I LOVE Pinterest!

So here are some pictures I’ve found that I’ve Pinned to a Private Board I created on my Pinterest account. Enjoy!

Colours Make Me Happy

Just sharing some of my favourite photos, curated from Pinterest. I appear to have come down with the dreaded ‘flu. 😢

But hey, I made a commitment and promise to myself nearly 4 years ago, that I would write something every day, and I’ve more or less managed to do that bar a couple of mishaps and accidental deletions.

So here’s today’s offering to you all…a variety of colourful, vibrant scarves. Because Colours Make Me Happy. Colours uplift my spirits, make me feel cheerful and inspire me to go create my own splash of psychedelic combinations. I have some rather sweet pillowcases that I mean to turn into cute patchwork scarves, I might just start doing that.

Or..maybe wait til I feel a bit better.

Enjoy today’s Pinterest curated offerings!

Yeah, and scarves make me happy too 😄!

Eye candy, thought provoking, inspiring, weird – yes, I have very eclectic tastes and it shows 😄. I love Steampunk, Assemblage, Altered Art, Surrealism, among others.

Enjoy! (If you’d like more information about any of these images, you’ll need to look under my profile “AlyZen Moonshadow” on Pinterest to find the pins).

You Are Enough

I’m a big fan of Daniell Koepke. I haven’t been able to glean much about her from the Internet, apart from the fact that she says the most inspiring, positive and life-affirming things. And I just love how she expresses those thoughts.

I’ve been collecting everything I see on Pinterest that relates to Daniell. Aside from her public blog writings, Daniell appears to be a very private person. She’s the founder of the Internal Acceptance Movement (I.A.M), an online space that “aims to foster self-acceptance, empowerment, mental wellness and healing”. Here is her blog, where you can read more about her Life Philosophy and what she hopes to achieve. It’s hard to believe that Daniell Koepke is a student of psychology, and so young, when she seems so much wiser than her years.

I for one am very thankful that there are people like Daniell Koepke in this world. They truly are luminaries.

Today’s Inspirational Thought is by Daniell, and it speaks to me personally. On the one hand, there are people I’ve known my entire life, who have chosen to cast me into their “not good enough” and “not worth bothering about” piles. On the other hand, there are people who I’ve only known a short while, friends old and new, who appreciate and accept me for who I am.

On the one hand, I’ve had to battle my way, psychologically, with some people; just trying to get my point across and get the help I need. Everything is hunky dory until your circumstances change, then suddenly you find doors slammed in your face, and you’re told that what you’re asking for is “too much”.

On the other hand, some people just seem to get me right from the start. They understand what I’m going through, and they are here for me no matter what. The wheat magically sorts itself out from the chaff.

So, to the people in my life who have always shown me kindness and love and compassion, and never made their friendship or connection dependant on my serving some purpose that satisfies their own personal needs, I say “Thank You”, from the bottom of my heart.

I don’t have many friends, but the ones that I still have, despite all my trials and tribulations, are my True Friends. These are my Real Family. These are My People. Thank You ❤.

The Pinterest Oracle

I was just scrolling through my Pinterest stream, pinning this and that, when suddenly it occurred to me that Pinterest is in actual fact an Oracle of sorts.

Here are some quotes that appeared on my Pinterest stream (or Timeline or Wall, whichever you prefer to call it). And boy I can tell you, these are so very accurate for what I’ve observed about people in the last few days.

Beautiful Art

I thought we could all do with some respite from the chaos and turmoil of the world around us, by indulging instead just for a moment, in these beautiful images (curated from Pinterest). These are curated from my Pinterest board “Inspiring Art”, so if you happen to see one that piques your interest, please do head over to Pinterest, look my name up (AlyZen Moonshadow), and find that board and the image you like.

Have a great day, everyone, wherever you are!
